A Honda começou a vender esta semana no Japão, o peculiar esportivo compacto S660, o carro traz de volta uma antiga receita japonesa em construir carros compactos, com apenas 2 lugares, carroceria leve, visual esportivo e sem capota, o primeiro a trazer esta configuração foi o Honda Beat, e o Suzuki Cappucino, ambos lançados no começo da década de 1990.
O desenvolvimento do Honda S660 começou em 2013, quando o carro foi concebido em forma ainda de conceito, e somente agora em abril de 2015 o roadster compacto chega às lojas, inicialmente apenas para o Japão. Para marcar o lançamento do S660 a Honda lançara uma edição chamada Concept Edition, que será limitada a 660 unidades.
Seguindo as receitas de um esportivo de verdade, o Honda S660 conta com motor central/traseiro, montado logo atrás dos bancos, além de tração traseira, o que proporcionará uma experiência de pilotagem mais divertida. A distribuição de peso é de 44% na dianteira e 55% na traseira.
Um dos detalhes que mais chama atenção no Honda S660 é sua peculiar motorização, o carrinho será empurrado por um pequeno motor 3 cilindros, de apenas 660 cilindradas (0.6 litros), que com a ajuda de um turbo desenvolve 64 cv de potência, a transmissão será manual de seis marchas, ou opcionalmente automática tipo CVT com 7 velocidades.
Os engenheiros da Honda usaram soluções interessantes para conseguir refrigerar este motor traseiro, como por exemplo canalizar o ar que passa nas laterais do carro na altura das janelas para ir direto para o compartimento do motor (foto acima).
Por enquanto o Honda S660 contará apenas com a versão roadster, com teto de tecido (foto acima), dobrável com operação feita de forma manual, o motorista tem de retirar a capota, dobrar e guardar no porta malas, que no caso fica na dianteira do carro.
Por dentro o Honda S660, apesar do espaço reduzido conta com uma cabine bem desenhada e detalhada, todos os principais comandos estão no console central, há ainda uma central multi-mídia com tela no topo do painel, e os mostradores contam com display digital.
A edição especial de lançamento traz um acabamento mais caprichado com detalhes em couro, com costuras vermelha, além de detalhes que imitam fibra de carbono, haverá ainda plaqueta metálica que identificará os primeiros 660 carros.
Visualmente o Honda S660 agrada, com um estilo simpático e moderno, chamando atenção logo ao primeiro olhar, ele deve atrair a todo o tipo de público. Seu design foi concebido por um designer de apenas 26 anos de idade.
No Japão as vendas do Honda S660 começam agora no dia 2 de abril, o preço ainda não foi revelado. Rumores apontam que a Honda poderia lançar no resto do mundo uma versão mais potente, batizada de S1000 com motor 1.0 turbo e potência na casa dos 110 cv.
